LA Series Brief Descriptions:

Bookshelf speakers:

LA Series bookshelf speakers are perfect for either Bookshelf or desktop main front speakers and can also be used as surround speakers in expanded configurations (more about this later). Sold as pairs and come in two different size selections 4” woofer/1” tweeter and 6” woofer/ 1” tweeter models and are sold as pairs, so remember that when ordering.

Center channel speaker:

The LA Series center channel speaker is designed to be used in conjunction with a pair of bookshelf or tower speakers to create a surround sound system. It features a wider soundstage and more powerful bass than the bookshelf speakers, making it ideal for handling dialogue and other important center channel information. It is the center channels job to articulate the speech you hear in TV and Movies. If your current system does not sound as well as it should, purchase our center channel speaker to clear up the voice dialogs or singing that you have been missing out on.

Tower speakers:

LA Series tower speakers are the perfect choice for larger rooms or for those who want the ultimate in sound quality and come in different sizes and speaker configurations that best suits any home.

Subwoofer:

The LA Subwoofer extends the realism of low frequency bass sound to enhance your listening pleasure for movie experiences whether it be on screen explosions, gunfire, drums, etc.

The LA Series includes a unique powered subwoofer that is the perfect way to add extra bass to your sound system. It features a 10-inch driver and 200 watts of power, so it can easily fill any room with deep, rumbling bass.

The built-in amplifier can accept both low level signal input and high-level signal input jacks to accept full power audio from your typical receiver and can then in turn not only process the sound for the subwoofer but also for your front speakers, by using our high-power input & high-power output jacks to drive your front towers.

Are all of the LA Series Speakers Passive?

All speakers within the LA Series family are passive speakers with the only one exception being our unique stand-alone powered Subwoofer (more on this later).

I have a mid to large sized Room, would the LA Series Work for me?

The Cerwin Vega LA Series Speakers are the ideal option for anyone who wants powerful sound without compromising on sound quality that can certainly fill any room size in a normal house, but who also needs speakers with a small enough footprint to fit even the most exacting modern décor and constrained floor spaces in today's housing markets.

The LA Series Sound Great, but I am not sure I can afford them, I bet they are expensive speakers?

We designed the LA Seres so they will not break the bank while maintaining a very high-quality of sound that delivers rich, immersive sound that will fill any room in your home.

The LA Series sound great and I would love to have a home system setup, but I do not know what to get, can you help with what I might need for speaker system?

Yes, listed below in the Home System Configuration section is listed possible combinations of types of audio systems to consider.

What receivers and amplifier power do you recommend to power these LA Series speakers?

Depending on which LA Series passive speakers you buy the general rule of thumb is 1.5x to 2.0x the power rating of the speaker itself.

By using this method you will not over drive your amplifier to work as hard as compared to a lower powered amplifier which could go into clipping mode and possibly ruin your amplifier/receiver and your LA Speakers by buring up the voice coils.

Note: Never use an amplifier with less power rating than the speakers you are trying to power.

WARNING: If you attempt to use an amplifier/receiver with a lower power rating than your speakers and you find that you have to turn up the volume level to compensate for a lower power amplifier/receiver, this may cause your amplifier/receiver to go into clipping and overheat and possibly burn up the amplifier/receiver along with your speakers (voice coil will receive too much current during clipping and will damage the voice coild).

What is the warranty for these LA Series speakers?

Is there a “break-in” period for these speakers before it can really be pushed to its limits?

Yes, we recommend a 1 month break in period but it is worth the wait.

Note: never exceed the maximum power ratings of your LA Speaker.

Are the speaker grills included with LA Series speakers and are they removable?

Yes, to both questions.

2.1 system: This is a basic stereo system that consists of:

2x Tower speakers of your choice (placed on the left and rights sides of your TV/Monitor).

1x Pair BookShelf Speakers of your choice (placed on the left and rights sides of your TV/Monitor).
1 x Subwoofer (placed behind where you are sitting or up front by the tower speakers)

5.1 system: This is a surround sound system that consists of:

2x Tower speakers of your choice (placed on the left and rights sides of your TV/Monitor).
1x Center Channel speaker (placed up front between the tower speakers and slightly recessed behind the front edges of the tower front facing).
1x Pair Bookshelf speakers, 2 positioned at the back of the room towards floor level (ear level when seated) and two positioned at the back of the room up on the wall towards the ceiling level.
1 x Subwoofer either positioned behind where you are sitting when watching your TV/Monitor or positioned up front by the tower speakers.

7.1 system:This is a more advanced surround sound system and often more pleasurable system for those who want the ultimate in surround sound realism.

2x Tower speakers of your choice (placed on the left and rights sides of your TV/Monitor).
1x Center Channel speaker (placed up front between the tower speakers and slightly recessed behind the front edges of the tower front facing).

If at any time your Cerwin Vega home product malfunctions as a result of faulty materials or workmanship, Cerwin Vega or one of Cerwin Vega's Authorized Service Centers in the United States of America will repair the defect(s) or replace the merchandise, as it deems appropriate at its sole discretion based upon the information presented below.
