Scratch Music Group / Scratch DJ Academy

Providing All-In-One Event Services From DJ Selection To Equipment Needs For Corporate & Lifestyle Events.

Created in 2002 as the first consolidated resource of professional club DJs available for hire nationwide, Scratch Events is a division of the Scratch Music Group, a leading music and lifestyle company originally founded by Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. Headquartered in New York City, Scratch has additional offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami, along with DJs based in every market in the US, and a network of over 600 celebrity and professional club DJs.

Not only does Scratch provide access to DJs that can spin all genres of music—including Pop, 80s, Hip-Hop, Rock, Top-40, Oldies, Motown, Funk, Soul, House, Salsa, Jazz and more its DJs are experts in pleasing even the most diverse crowd. They know not only what to play, but when to play it.

"Flat out, the Stanton STR8-150 turntable surprised me. It has a straight tonearm that sticks better, increased torque, dual start and stop buttons and the ability to change the way it starts up and brakes, brilliant! Features are meaningless without dependability -- they have never let us down. They get a massive amount of use and abuse in our DJ school. We've got 30 of them and they keep rolling along every day. The STR8.150 is destined to become the new industry standard for the pro-grade turntable."

In addition to booking DJs, Scratch provides sound equipment for any type of venue. To date, Scratch Events has supplied all-in-one DJ services for over 10,000 corporate and private clients, and proudly endorses Cerwin-Vega Active Series subwoofers including the CVA-28 and CVA-118 models among its pro DJs. Students of the Scratch Academy in Los Angeles, Miami and New York City learn and train on some of the best equipment in the business.

"The CV Active Series subs have tremendous power output and exceptional low-frequency response, which are great features to have given the range of events that we cater to," offered Colin Kelly, VP of Events. "Not to mention they're extremely portable and are smart-looking, which is important to our clients."

Another fan of Scratch equipment, DJ Hapa adds, "Flat out, Stanton the STR8.150 turntable surprised me. It has a straight tonearm that sticks better, increased torque, dual start and stop buttons and the ability to change the way it starts up and brakes, brilliant!
