I owned a pair of Cerwin Vega VS150s for a few years in the late 90's. Loved em but had to sell them because they were as big as refrigerators. Since then I've been listening to more polite and much smaller speakers.
When I learned about he LA series and liked what I heard from the few reviews I could find I caved and bought a pair of the LA14s. I've got them hooked up to a Fosi Audio V3 amp and a Wiim Mini for streaming music and I've been listening to them a lot. Genres = rock, classic rock, folk pop, electronic, bluegrass, rap, etc...
The LA14s are exactly what I was expecting and hoping for: well built and lively little bookshelf speakers that are fun to listen to. They have 4 inch woofers so manage your expectations on the bass front (partially helped by positioning them about a foot off the back wall). They were also brighter than I prefer initially but things smoothed out - either they broke in or I got used to them, who knows?
Super happy I bought them. If you're thinking about it, go for it
