Overview
Rigging Frame For SLP28 + SUBA18-SLP28
The RFSLP28 is a pro-grade rigging frame for high-end audio. It acts as the "backbone" of your professional sound system. We designed it to connect SLP28 speakers to SUBA18-SLP28 subwoofers. This frame ensures your rig stays stable and safe. It is a vital tool for touring bands and fixed sound setups in clubs or theaters.
Versatile Setup and Pro Safety You can use this frame in two main ways. In "Flown Mode," it lets you hang speakers safely beneath your subwoofers. In "Stacked Mode," it acts as a strong base for ground stacks. It keeps the weight centered so the system stays balanced and safe. We build it from high-strength materials that pass strict load tests. This ensures your gear stays secure while hanging in the air.
Key Product Features:
- Perfect Match: Custom built to link SLP28 tops and SUBA18 subs.
- Two Modes: Use it for hanging arrays or ground-stacking gear.
- Pro Safety: Tested for heavy loads to meet global rigging standards.
- Fast Setup: Includes quick-release pins to save time at the show.
RIGGING AND SUSPENSION SAFETY NOTICE:
IMPORTANT – READ BEFORE FLYING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS
When using currently available Cerwin-Vega rigging hardware the suspended system configuration limits published below are the current company-approved operating boundaries based on currently available factory load-testing information. These limits remain subject to ongoing engineering review and the receipt of stamped, third-party certified Working Load Limit (WLL) documentation. These structural limits must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
- MIXED CONFIGURATION: FLYING TOPS AND SUBWOOFER TOGETHER
When a subwoofer is integrated into the flown array, the additional suspended mass changes load distribution and increases structural loading demands on the lifting frame and associated rigging hardware.
Maximum Permitted Suspended Configuration:
• Maximum 5 Top Loudspeakers
• Maximum 1 Flown Subwoofer
️ CRITICAL WARNING:
When a subwoofer is flown as part of the array, the suspended system shall never exceed 5 tops and 1 flown subwoofer using this lifting frame configuration.
- STANDARD CONFIGURATION: TOPS ONLY (SUBWOOFER GROUND STACKED)
To reduce structural loading and cumulative stress on cabinet-to-cabinet rigging hardware, low-frequency enclosures should be ground stacked whenever possible.
When the subwoofer is ground stacked and not flown:
Maximum Permitted Suspended Configuration:
• Maximum 8 Top Loudspeakers
• No Flown Subwoofer
• Maximum Approved Suspended Array Weight: 320 kg (705 lbs.)
The total suspended mass must include all loudspeakers, rigging grid, side plates, quick-release pins, shackles, cabling, and all associated hanging hardware and accessories.
These published limits reflect currently approved operating configurations and do not replace the requirement for proper rigging practice, qualified installation, or structural verification.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS & LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
Single-Point Suspension Warning: Improper hoist positioning may create uneven loading and increased structural stress on the lifting frame. When utilizing a single-point suspension, the main hoist shackle must be positioned in accordance with factory center-of-gravity guidance and approved rigging practice.
Qualified Personnel Only:
All flown systems must be installed, rated, and inspected exclusively by qualified rigging personnel and must comply with all applicable local structural codes, venue regulations, and accepted industry safety practices.
Component Verification:
Users are responsible for ensuring that all hoist motors, shackles, secondary safety devices, structural attachment points, and associated rigging hardware are properly rated and suitable to support the intended load with applicable safety factors.
Hardware Modifications:
Never exceed published limits, modify factory rigging components, or substitute quick-release pins or structural hardware with non-approved components.
Failure to strictly follow these operational requirements, weight limitations, and safety practices may result in equipment damage, structural failure, serious personal injury, or death.
